Diretto da Daniel Espinosa, il film vede nel cast, oltre a Jared Leto nei panni del Vampiro vivente, anche Adria Arjona, Matt Smith Jared Harris e Tyrese Gibson (il Roman Pearce nel franchise di Fast & Furious).

La sceneggiatura è stata firmata da Matt Sazama e Burk Sharpless, che, in passato, hanno lavorato agli script di Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter – L’Ultimo Cacciatore di Streghe, Gods of Egypt e Power Rangers.

Avi Arad e Matt Tolmach produrranno il lungometraggio insieme a Lucas Foster.

L’uscita è stata fissata al 31 luglio 2020.
