È The Miseducation of Cameron Post a trionfare al Sundance Film Festival 2018, festival dedicato al cinema indipendente fondato da Robert Redford. Il film, diretto da Desiree Akhavan e con protagonista Chloë Grace Moretz, ha conquistato il gran premio della giuria U.S. Dramatic.
L’italiana Sara Colangelo ha ricevuto il premio per la miglior regia grazie al suo The Kindergarten Teacher. Tra gli altri vincitori Monsters and Men si è aggiudicato il premio speciale della giuria come miglior opera prima nella sezione U.S. Dramatic Competition
